In case you want to reject a pending certificate, you can do so by following the below steps.

Rejecting pending certificates can be useful if you want to avoid having to fully process a certificates. For example, if you are not satisfied with the provided form, in case critical data are missing, or entered information is eligible.

TIP: Please view the documentation on how to reject completed certificates if you want to want to reject a completed certificate instead of rejecting a pending certificate.

Please keep in mind that access to certificate queues might be restricted for some user roles; please contact your EXEMPTAX account owner to check if you have sufficient access rights to perform this function.

1. Navigate to the "Certificate" function on the left menu bar and press the "Queues" link. From there, filter your "Certificate Status" to "Pending" and select your certificate by pressing the "Cert ID" button of the certificate to view.

2. Once in the certificate processing flow, simply press the "Reject Certificate" button to continue.

TIP: Rejecting pending certificates can be useful for multiple scenarios. In this example, the user is rejecting the certificate since he is not able to allocate a customer in the EXEMPTAX account.

FYI: You have the option to reject a pending certificate during any processing stage (Classification, Validation, Authentication). In this example the user is rejecting the certificate in the Classification stage.

3. After you hit the "Reject Certificate" button, a new window will popup prompting you to add rejection notes for future reference as to why this certificate was rejected. Once your notes are entered, press the "Reject Certificate" button to finish the process.
